玉猪龙肥首大耳,吻部平齐,三角形切口不切透内圆,身体首尾相连,成团状卷曲,背部对钻圆孔,面部以阴刻线表现眼圈、皱纹,整器似猪的胚胎。首尾衔接如环形的玉猪龙,较多地保留了猪的形象,属于早期的作品,很有可能是“猪乃龙象”这一古谚的最早源头。随着时间的推移,玉猪龙慢慢首尾分离,头上长出了鬣或角。而蜷体玉龙同样为岫岩软玉,呈墨绿色,短龙首,吻部前伸上噘,鼻端截平,双圆鼻孔,梭形目,长鬣扁薄,明显地具备猪首的特征。同时龙体卷曲呈“C”形,刚劲有力,显现腾云驾雾的动感,无疑又具备蛇的特征。有专家认为,古人以蛇象征土地和繁殖力,崇拜蛇。体现在玉器造型上,就把猪和蛇结合起来,出现了猪首蛇身龙的形象。至此,一条原始的龙被我们的祖先创造出来了,蜷体玉龙也由此被称为中华第一龙。
